The Discovery Trail on the Kancamagus Highway

The Discovery Trail on the Kancamagus Highway is an often overlooked part of the Kancamagus experience. It’s educational, fun, and relaxing for people of all ages. If you have children, this is a must-see.

The Discovery Trail is an 85 acre area of forest called a “Working Forest” – this is a term used to describe a managed area of forest land. The entire area is carefully managed to produce wood, water, clean air, wildlife, recreation, and scenic views. Balancing all of this simultaneously is no easy task. Be sure to do your part and stay on the trail and remove any trash you bring in or find along your way.

Be sure to use the trail guide as it is very well written and very detailed. It will walk you through every step of this trail and show you many things you would certainly overlook without the guide.

Printing the Discovery Trail Guide and map uses 18 sheets of paper, if you would like to save paper, print on both sides of the printer paper. (Print the scovery_trail_guide)

If you leave the trail guide you printed at the trailhead in the small box when you’re done, you will help someone else (and help the environment).
